I gained one pound last week! It's frustrating and disappointing. I ate well and exercised well, but I didn't meet my goal!!! For a split second, I considered giving up altogether.
On The Biggest Loser, a few weeks ago, one of the trainers said that ups and downs on the scale were normal. In our pursuit of fitness we shouldn't get too wrapped up in numbers as we'll make ourselves crazy. Our focus should be on our long term goal and the decisions we face moment by moment. Good advice.
Our Spiritual walk is like this too. A bad day or a bad week won't ever be strong enough to remove us from the love of God. Rather than meditating on our failures, we should keep our focus on The One Who Is Our Victory, pick ourselves up and persevere. We will make it, if we do not give up!
Hebrews 10:35-36 (New International Version)
35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. 36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
